A Lack of Consensus for Nuclear Energy

The Campus Coalition for Peace at Parkside hands out information pertaining to activism, the environment, and the current state of our nation. One of the pamphlets they graciously give away for free at their own expense is entitled "Don't Nuke Wisconsin's Climate." This pamphlet deals with the debate about and the dangers of expanding Wisconsin's nuclear energy program and the possible effects of building new nuclear facilities.

MBA Program Works With European Company

Parkside's MBA program does more than just study business from a distance, as current student Armin Mehic demonstrated on January 18th.

Mehic, originally from Europe, was visiting there when he met leaders of the British energy brokerage and consultancy Alfa Energy, which was interested in investigating whether to expand into the United States. Alfa Energy, founded in 1995, operates by contracting energy rates for their clients, in order to get lower prices when the market goes up.

Spotlight on...Meal Plans

Here at Parkside, in order to live on campus, you need a meal plan. The cost of the meal plan includes an enrollment fee of $365 per semester to cover basic needs like rent, utilities, salaries for the dining room staff, etc. The money that is left over is added to your Ranger Card to be used at any of the dining locations on campus. So, if you buy the cheapest plan at $940, after the enrollment fee is taken out, you are left with $565 Dining Dollars.

Learn to Maximize your Time and Energy Potential: the UW-Parkside Fall 2009 Ranger Wellness Challenge

Time is precious. It is an ancient saying, yet it proves itself true everyday in all of our lives. The human energy which men and women invest in their passions, careers, and goals is precious. Men and women are on a seemingly endless quest to make the most of their time and energy, while simultaneously not getting burnt out. The key to maximizing the fruitfulness of a person's time is to find a life of balance and moderation. The Ranger Wellness Challenge claims that it can help UW-Parkside students, faculty, and staff to find that balance.
