Persistence Not Enough, Rangers Lose 58-63

The UW-Parkside Rangers (8-16, 3-12 within the Great Lakes Valley Conference) faced the Lewis Flyers (15-9, 7-8 in the GLVC) for the second straight game. Their meeting last week was at Lewis University, and saw a 53-64 Parkside loss. The Rangers entered this game on a four game losing skid, and a five straight home losing streak. While it wasn’t the wire to wire game as it was in Lewis, it was another difficult loss for the Men’s Basketball team on Feb. 11 at DeSimone Gymnasium, and the Rangers fell to the Lewis University, 58-63.

Sporting white sneakers on the sideline of another dissapointing let-down, Parkside's Luke Reigel epitomized a head coach about ready to step on the court himself.

On a Saturday afternoon where collegiate coaches around the country were encouraged to support health and fitness, Parkside's inconsistency translated into a frustrating defeat, 75-66.

Men's Team Falls to Undefeated Eagles, 67-78

The UW-Parkside Rangers Men’s Basketball team (8-12) faced the undefeated University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles (17-0) at DeSimmone Gymnasium Thursday night, and it didn’t take long for the undefeated Eagles to hand another GLVC loss to the Rangers.

The Rangers started the game with four freshmen against a lineup of five upper classmen for an undefeated team. The Rangers would inevitably get the first basket of the game, but that was the only time they led in the entire game.

Upset Spoiled

Low-lighted by dismal shooting in overtime, Parkside's attempt to derail No. 14 Quincy and their unblemished record Monday night ended in defeat.

Featuring a men’s basketball Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown, powerhouse Quincy University (7-0) (16-0) edged UW-Parkside 77-74 at DeSimone Gymnasium in Kenosha, WI.

Rangers Trounce Judson, 98-74

Five days removed from their win over Clarke College, the men’s team had all the right answers tonight in a decisive 98-74 win at DeSimone Gymnasium.

“It’s a nice way to go into Christmas that’s for sure,” laughed head coach Luke Reigel.

Grant Johnson Shines, Rangers Win 73-63

Coming off their huge win over the then undefeated Missouri St. Louis Tritons, the men’s basketball team battled out a 73-63 victory against out of conference Clarke College Thursday night at DeSimone Gymnasium.

Saffold, Rangers Pull Off Upset

Personifying athletic prestige, a polished stroke and a desire to be great, the Rangers have themselves a basketball player that fits the description.

It wasn't enough that freshman forward Jeremy Saffold led all players in points and could probably boast a jaw-dropping highlight reel; Thursday night showcased the young superstar's ability to take over a game in the limelight.

Rangers Drop Conference Opener, 62-73

In a game obliterated by turnovers and missed opportunities, the Rangers dropped their opening conference game tonight, 73-62.

The UW-Parkside Rangers (3-4) opened up play within the Great Lake Valley Conference at home against the Rockhurst University Hawks (4-3). The Rangers came out strong, and were able to walk into halftime with a 36-30 lead.

Even Shorthanded, The Rangers Roll

The injury bug bites Parkside yet again, but it's freshman Jeremy Saffold's 21 points, five rebounds, and four assists that help clinch the weekend sweep.

UW-Parkside (3-3) hosted non-conference opponent Bemidji State (4-1) at DeSimone Gymnasium in Kenosha Saturday afternoon. This was the final game slated for the men's basketball Slam Dunk Diabetes Classic.
